In the olden days at Tuhua Island Waitaiki was having a swim in the water. Poutini was hiding under the rocks he jumped out of the rocks, then he got Waitaiki! He then took her through the North Island and through the South Island. Tamāahua was following Poutini and he knew that Tamāahua was following him. Then Poutini turned her into Pounamu.

Up on the Island of Tahua there lived a man and a wife, there names were Tamāahua and Waitaiki. One morning Waitaiki went down to the sea to have her bath. But there was also another creature out there. He was the Atua of Ponamu, Poutini. Instantly Poutini fell in love with Waitaiki, he longed to live with her so he said to himself "how can I get her to come with me?" So he thought and thought...

More than one hundred years ago on an Island called Tuhua lived Waitaiki and Tamaahua. One morning Waitaiki went down to have her bath but there was also another creature out there  he was the Atua of ponamu Poutini. Instantly Poutini fell in love with Waiatiki.

Poutini stole waitaiki. They traveled from the South Island to the North Island. Tamaahua was chasing them. Poutini turned Waitaiki into Pounamu and lay her beside a rock. Poutini hid form Tamaahua under the water. Tamaahua couldn't find them. When Poutini stole Waitaiki she went for a morning swim. Tamaahua had a magic stick that told him where Waitaiki was.

This is when the story happened. I think in the olden days. Poutini, Waitaiki and Tamaahua. Poutini stole Waitaiki at Tuhua in the North Island. Poutini stole Waitaiki and Tamaahua chased Poutini. Poutini lit fires everywhere. Poutini turned Waitaiki into Poumanu. Then Tamaahua named Tuhua so Waitaiki will always remember her home land.
