In the olden days Poutini stole Waitaiki. Poutini turned Waitaiki into Greenstone, Waitaiki's tears made different Greenstone. Tamaahua was waiting at the village having a coffee. He waited until Poutini saw Waitaiki and grabbed her and he then ran and ran until he was too late. He ran all around the North Island and the South Island. She got turned into Greenstone so Poutini ran back to the river and she was on it.
